Q: Do I have to have an Etsy account?
A: No, but it can’t hurt. :) Etsy shops offer a discount after the sale, so you’ll need an account to take advantage of that.
Q: Do I have to have a Paypal account?
A: Yup, it’s easy. Sign up at paypal.com.
Q: Can I change my mind after I comment?
A: Sorry, no takesies-backsies.
Q: So, if I see that I wrote the first (or second or third, depending on how many are being offered) comment… that means I won, right?
A: Not necessarily. Facebook marks people as being ‘spammy’ if they comment a lot. It’s the nature of the beast during the Cute Stuff Sale. At some point, just about everyone gets marked as being ‘spammy.’ All I have to do is click ‘not spam’ and everyone will see the comments again. So, just to be sure, wait until I can declare the winner. Cause nobody actually knows who won but me. Dun dun dun…
Q: Who is posting the items?
A: It probably won’t be me. I’ll be busy ‘unspamming’ comments and declaring winners. I’ve got a couple of people that will help, and I’ll identify them the night of the sale.
Q: What do I do after I “win”?
A: Enter your email address in the comment section. The seller will send you an invoice, and you pay the seller within three days of receiving the invoice. :)
Q: Do I have to enter my email address in the comment section after I win?
A: Yes, you must. Otherwise, tracking things get so out of hand. Feel free to go back and delete your email address after 24 hours, though.
Q: I DIDN’T GET AN INVOICE!!!
A: At the end of the sale, it takes awhile to tally who bought what and from which store. Then, I send all of that information to the sellers. THEN, the sellers have to send out invoices. With that said, allow for at least three days after the sale. If you haven’t received one by then, please email me at roo@nicegirlnotes.com (as opposed to blowing up my Facebook wall with WHERE’S MY INVOICE, I HATE YOU NOW) Jk. No one’s done that.. yet.
Q: Got any tips for being one of the first commenters?
A: Close down any programs that might be slowing you down. Also, try a couple of shortcuts. If you have a Mac, refresh the page quickly by hitting command + R. If you have a PC, just hit F5. Lastly, if you’re bummed because someone else is buying all of the sweet stuff, do not fret. All of the sales will be offering 15% off EVERYTHING in their stores.
Q: I really like this item, but I’d like it in red, or orange, or with a tassle, or without that sticker, or in a size medium, or gift-wrapped. Is that possible?
A: After you purchase an item and are declared the winner, if you’d like to have something customized or altered, feel free to ask the Etsy shop owner. Most of them are easily able to customize products just for you. A different scent, a different color? Just ask. :) However, the no takesies-backsies rule is still in effect!
Q: I’m in Canada or Ecuador or Bahrain or Ireland. Can I play, too????
A: Yeah, baby. Just be advised that there will be an extra charge for international shipping.
Q: What time is the sale again?
A: 8:00pm to 10:00pm Eastern Standard Time. We may run over if things get crazy. o.O
Q: I won an item, got an invoice, paid… never got my item. What gives?
A: Shoot the seller an email. No answer? Then just shoot me an email. Usually it’s just an email spambox issue. Sometimes international shipping takes a looong time. But yes, get at me at roo@nicegirlnotes.com
Q: Do you sell stuff on the Facebook page and on NiceGirlNotes.com?
A: Yes! It mixes up the game a little, and slows down the Facebook craziness, lessening the chance that we break Facebook. Again.
Q: When should I check NiceGirlNotes.com, and how does it work?
A: Sometimes I’ll post special sales or “multiples” on my site. So, if someone’s selling ten of an item, I’ll post it on NiceGirlNotes.com, and the first ten comments get it at that special price. I generally post something every ten minutes during the sale, so I’d keep a tab open and refresh at 8:10, 8:20, 8:30, 8:40, 8:50, 9:00, 9:10, 9:20, 9:30, 9:40, 9:50 or thereabouts. Remember, we’re not all FBI agents, so we’re not all on the same clock. Thus, if 8:32 comes around and nothing’s up yet, give it another minute. :D
Q: Do I have to enter my email address in the comments on NiceGirlNotes.com, too?
A: Yes, because if it’s the first 20 comments, it’s easier to look at the first 20 comments and shoot you an invoice. So just say “I want one! melissa@smurfland.com” I delete the post the same night, so your comment will be gone within a couple of hours.
Q: I’m not buying anything. Can I come hang out anyway?
A: Absolutely. It is so much fun to watch and be a part of the night.
Q: I have an Etsy shop. Can I be in the next sale?
A: The short answer… maybe! :) There’s a lot of interest in the Cute Stuff Sales, and I have to be really choosy. Your stuff may be AWESOME, but if it’s wrong for my demographic, it won’t sell well.
